M&A Transactions and the New Brazilian Data Protection Law

M&A transactions involving entities processing personal data will be subjected to the new Brazilian General Data Protection Law (Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados or ‘LGPD’) when this legislation comes into force in August 2020. The LGPD will impact all those involved in the deal, the conduct of the due diligence, the structure of the deal, and the negotiation of the transaction documents.
