In an interview with Valor Econômico, partner Erickson Oliveira commented on how companies listed on the Novo Mercado are responding to the discussions around dividends. He explained that, despite potential changes to the wording of the law, the current environment still does not provide enough certainty to justify altering plans that are already underway.
In his view, companies need to keep their current strategies in place to ensure a reliable pool of distributable profits without taking on additional risk, since corporate decisions and internal adjustments require immediate organization and careful planning.
