IBS and CBS: Impacts on real estate leases

The consumption tax reform will have significant impacts on the real estate sector. IBS and CBS will replace six taxes currently collected, will have a broad tax base, unified calculation criteria, and, as a rule, will be charged separately from the price. These changes will bring greater transparency and efficiency to the system.

One practical effect of these changes is the possibility that individuals may be taxed in a manner similar to legal entities. The reform is also expected to affect the dynamics of negotiating lease agreements.

Partner Felipe Salomon and consultant Beatriz Bueno explain the details of this emerging scenario and present the opportunities created by the new tax model in the guide “IBS and CBS: Impacts on Real Estate Leasing.”
